550 spyder
went to Fox's shed in docklands yesterday... some very tasty cars there. My favourite was the (real, of course) 550 Spyder... seems to appear a lot on people's top ten list too.
Got me thinking that maybe my second 'porsche' (family rule agreed by the finance committee is one porsche per child and NO MOTORBIKES) should be a 550 spyder rather than a 356:

pity about it being a replica!!

Not sure about replicas but at least you can drive them without too much fear.
Is the Fox collection open to the public? Look like a great space!

Jeff... forgot to mention that I am sooo dreaming if I think I can afford another car at the moment.
Anyway, yes - the Fox Collection is open to the public. $10 entry.

Well worth an hour or so to walk though it (and luckily, my work is 5 mins walk away).

I took a tour of the Fox museum about 10 years ago for a christmas breakup for work with the Holden design team . Our Guided tour took us through the museum but also to the work shop that was next door (now moved ).The work shop had a couple of gull wing merc's being "re-hand built" and Lindsay's first truck he owned plus allsorts off stuff not seen to the public .
They also pointed out that the 550 Spyder they have (550 056) is the next chassis number along from James Dean's "Little Bastard" (550 055).
such a cool car!
Cheers Doug
