Coming up in the next auction Wait for the photos Its in amazing condition and remember it growing up in Mont Albert ( UK delivered in time warp condition )

Looks nice, if it's as good as you say it will be interesting to see what it brings.

Although UK Delivery it may still set some sort of bench price as I have not seen much sell lately.

I think that if it's as good as it looks in the one picture it will probably make no difference on the price being from the UK, and could eventually end up back in the UK.

Yes agreed , quite easy with currency the way it is and duty already paid .

“On blocks for 30 years” ...Is there an interesting story in there somewhere?

Looks good in photos. Great colour.

With respect and not embellishing it up.

Maybe he threw his licence in at 69, given he's 99 now .

She may have been getting a bit much for him .

                Reasonable Super Plan gain .

                Who knows ............

Apparently he needs the funds for his "retirement" - read nursing home fees. However having been on "blocks" for 30 years and with occasional engine starts and running, an uninitiated early 911 buyer would need to understand all the issues that can be present in a car like this. I would assume every rubber needs replacement including fuel lines, brake seals, ALL suspension bushes etc. I would bet most brake lines have internal rust and need replacing and who knows what condensation has formed over all these years inside the fuel tank leading to rust particle issues into the electric fuel pump and possibly into the MFI. If the new owner takes it for a spin before a thorough clean and inspection, a lot of issues could evolve including brake failure, fuel pump issues etc.

I remember when US member Kent Moore bought his 700 mile '73 911T which had sat for many years and it required hours of workshop time to coax it back into life before being driven. Fortunately the paint & interior was in great condition but mechanicals all needed a lot of work. Condensation can take a real toll with years of sitting around so lubricants get contaminated and cylinders can get rust spots after oil has long drained from surfaces. Marine engines often suffer from this when they are not run for long periods of time. I heard the owner was a mechanic and therefore sympathetic to such issues but if the car was not actually driven and only engine started, there will still be a lot of things to fix and replace.

Will be interesting to see who buys the car and if its a club member and we can follow its progress as it gets coaxed back to life.

For those who never saw the pics (some time back) here are photos of Kents car in "as found" condition in a garage in suburban Detroit. You can only dream about finding an early car in such condition. Even the tyres had German air in them.

Looks like 30 years on blocks isn't a barrier.

I wonder how much these bidders know about these early cars ? will be interesting to see if a bidding war escalates later today as the auction draws to a close.
