Certainly a well loved and cared for car. Hats off to the last custodian.

Blimey a bit of a roughie - its either a blank canvas or a hand grenade looking for a place to go off....

Will be interesting to see what it brings - but a lot of money to spend there.

Previously orange I see - better not tell my wife - as she loves orange 911's.

Went to around $60K - I backed out at $45K - figured a $70K resto back to orange and with current values $45K seemed worth it.

This was a matching numbers car factory orange.

This was what I saw at end of the extended bonus time. Refreshed and finished.

This car was FS on Gumtree for circa $60k early 2020 in south western Sydney. No books, SC guards, and had rust under the pedal box, pointing to a long standing leaking targa roof. It was a REAL roughie. It had been neglected for a loooong time prior. Such a shame.

Sounds like its redefined the word "project". Good luck to the new owner and wonder if they are on this Forum ?
Scotty's advice that its rusty around the pedal box makes for a reasonably complicate repair and with a potentially leaky targa roof, the buckets under the rear seats are also a highly likely rust area as water likes to pool here too. Old and cracked rear window seals also leads to bad rust in rear parcel shelf and aforementioned rear seats area.

So maybe not as much as I thought - looks like I may have dodged a bullet based on the rust conversation. I would have bought unto $45K but beyond that seemed like a bad gamble.

Yes it would have been - but I try to remain objective when I see these types of cars.

Its a little more than the colour combo you need to be concerned about when buying these old 911's. The mechanical and body work can add up to many, many thousands of $$$ plus all the hassles in finding parts. Ask me how I know, I have had 2 x 72 Targas with various rust, mechanical and body problems.
