Jeez, Sports Seats and H1 headlights. Someone either ticked the right boxes when ordering this one or added some good bits along the way (except for the Cookie Cutters). As Shannons note, looks like a good candidate for a nice resto. Wonder how the body is rust-wise ? How realistic is their estimate range of $90 - $120K ? Undervalued or overvalued in this market ??

You mean other than the visible rust in the LH door...?

Gotta say, I kinda like the cookies on it. They add to the roughness of it all.
I've never thought this about an early car before, but if I bought that thing I'd just drive it as is, and not worry about making it beautiful.

Wow - side note, just made my 1000th post. Jeez, I never thought I'd hit that number! (yes, I know it's a lot less than others...)

Contacted my friend who bought the car in the early 90's in Balmain (Sydney) - the car already had the Cookie Cutters then and was still a Sporto. He knew very little of its history

Car was prepared to run in regularity. Car was run for about 18 months in HSRCA Regularity. The dash knee roll had a neat gap cut in it which I suspect had been placed there for some kind of rally meter.

The best thing about the car was that the panel fit was outstandingly good.

It was sold to Orange NSW , then back to Sydney and my friend was again offered the car in the late 90's. It ended up somewhere in Lane Cove NSW. I presume it is that person selling it through Shannons?

If Shannons are saying project then beware as they call even the ordinary cars outstanding usually!!!

How was the gemini blue 911E from last year described / marketed?

Im referring to the one that realised far more than many people were prepared to pay.

Seemingly barn finds hold a certain allure for people.

I'm reading thru all of Shannons description of this car and they say its been in storage for "many years" yet its to be sold with rego that expires in May 2022 ? If its remained unused for all this time, has someone still been paying rego all these years and not driving it ? And if it has been recently re-registered, I assume its running and has a roadworthy certificate ?
Interested to know if any NSW members have had a closer look at it or if Lockdown has thwarted the opportunity for a close-up inspection ?

And yes, they appear to still keep coming out of the woodwork, so how many more are hidden in garages and sheds under blankets and tarps ?

I can't say for certain, but I think it belongs to a bloke not far from me. He also has a green US '69T. The green one I've spied many times, but the yellow one only a couple of times inside his garage - on the rare days it's been open. If that is it it's certainly been "many years".

Corresponds with what I said in post #9….. i reckon it’s been with the Lane Cove owner since the late 90s.
