    Gorgeous car

Does look nice but why would you go to all the trouble of restoring and not paint the engine bay black like it should be or put a decent grille on the engine lid.

Possibly not "the very best 911s in australia" then.

Probably restored / refurbished in late 90's , early 2000's when these things werent worried about or good repro grilles available?

Just like a lot of the cars the factory restored 20-30 years ago. The parts availability, and the level of accuracy and thoroughness has increased a lot on the last 20 years - even more in the last 5-10.

My records show that it was repainted in 1999 from tangerine to signal orange and was still signal orange when sold in 2009 (with 7 owners from new recorded at that date)
It was sold again in April 2012 and by that time had been repainted back to tangerine - essentially as it looks now although the (poor) photo I have of the engine compartment at that time looks more like signal orange paint in it than tangerine but that may be a trick of the light)

I guess any 2.2S coupe would be a lovely thing if running half decently

You'd probably like to get the correct speaker grille for that sort of money....
