Could be a good time to put my near identical '73 on at about half that price, would make it look a bargain

            Yes it is ,

As per the near identical comment

One of 15 in '73 and the 3rd Angas Car if you are familiar of that lineage , well optioned.

As an owner of an Australian tourist delivered matching numbers 73 Coupe factory 5 speed (not silver), I'm sure all early 901 owners hope that the Classic Throttle Shop price on the silver car is achieved. I'm also sure this 72 Silver 911E is a great car with a strong history, but the price asked would appear to be well beyond reasonable expectations. Engine number appears to indicate this car started life as a sporto, and for an advertised "matching numbers" car, potential buyers should do there own checks.

Has rba influenced the market for 72 911e's?
                It's still fs.

Should’ve kept my 72E, would’ve got an extra $20k for being sepia brown.

Don't get me wrong I wouldn't fork out this amount of money, but I was in LA last week, and went to Willhoit.
They had a 68s in exceptional condition ( concourse) Price was $410kusd. So landed plus taxes that is $800kaud. Mind you that's ask? But that are a consistent and reputable place world wide. It is on their website.

Think rather than generalising - cars on condition will dictate prices, might be best that comments on price come with a quality grade.
As we all know photos v reality are often very very different - we have heaps of experts on this forum and anyone that has done a recent restoration know that pricing is through the roof! especially if you want to do it right.

The 68s at Willhoit was a definite A grade on detail and originality.

I think we are being a little tough on 901 prices considering my eyeballing last week.

                        2 bobs worth.

mmmm how can you be 75K out when making a pricing decision on one of these?

Still too high in my view, but then I'm not a buyer, so good luck to the sellers.
