Yes world wide, more than the 2 vendors mentioned I suspect.
Yes a healthy 19.5% makes a $5k purchase turn into a $6k purchase pretty quickly
Viewing available commencing 19th July
Pretty sure my plates will only be sold in VicClyde Boyer

Is anyone else watching this auction unfold ? There are some crazy prices, $14,200 plus 20% buyers premium for a set of RSR wheels. I think 9 x 15 and 11 x 15.
Patrick, was this you bidding for tese ?
And the pair of Heuer stopwatches went for $9450 plus premium. Some sold prices are much higher than you can spend elsewhere online.
Who said there wasnt any money around ?sigpicPhil Lack

Are people going mad at this online auction ?
Just saw one T handle for 911 hood or engine lid release sell for well over $300 plus premium.
Your can buy a brand new one from Stoddards for US$ 19.40 ea.
Where are these buyers when you are selling some old parts ? I have 2 of these T-handles for sale.
I'll take $200 ea with free postage !sigpicPhil Lack

Well I won 3 grille badges , and just missed 2 black coils….
in short the stuff is either going for drug money, or excellent value.
there doesn’t seem to be a middle ground?

I agree Justin, there were some bargains but you had to be online and paying attention, and also aware of the 20% buyer premium for mot items.
Some of the wheels went for crazy prices. I actually went to one of the inspection days and bumped into another TYP901 member there. I wanted to inspect some of the lots personally like the 3 15 x 7 Fuchs wheels to check date stamps etc. I doubt the person who paid top dollar for the lot of 2 wheels actually insected them before bidding.
Will be interesting to see some of the buyers when they are there tomorrow to collect winning lots and see just what they bought. I was keen to inspect some sun visors as there were 2 lots; one set of RHD visors and a set of LHD. The RHD ones sold for over $1300. I didnt consider them to be a particularly good set.
Watching a lot of the bidding, I seriously doubted buyers had a good idea of what you could find similar items for elsewhere. Case in point was as mentioned above for the T handles. Many buyers paid well over the going rate, especially where you could buy a new item for less (eg: Momo Prototipo sold for more than new price from several local suppliers).
If like other Donington auctions, they list the final selling prices after the Auction is completed, it will be interesting to add up the total sales revenue, as I am sure it will be substantial.
Good luck to any of our members here that were successful in bidding. I may well start to list some of the many other Porsche items I have stashed away as it seems there is a good demand for many of them.

BTW, if anyone is interested in a set of hood lights as pictured on Clydes yellow 911 in an earlier post on this thread, I have a set available with either Cibie or Marchal lenses, and including the yellow bulb covers for that very european look.sigpicPhil Lack
