1971 Targa on Ebay- what's the story?

    Hi,

Has this car been discussed before?

What's the history ? has anyone previously inspected it when it was last for sale?

    Thanks

    Dylan

I'm no expert but that VIN stamping doesn't look right.

it's a targa with a funky DP body kit. Though matching numbers imported car.

Biggest issue, I understand there is no proof of importation. Meaning you ain't getting this puppy registered.

That's a serious problem. I wonder how it might affect Club Rego though ?

Sounds pretty dodgy. No mention in Ebay sales description...I feel sorry for the buyer

I agree with Peter- the VIN looks wrong.

For sure, but let's say the car is worth $100k USD converted back to LHD it is a matching number T, for somebody that can do the work themselves there may be a financial upside to it? If you have to pay somebody to do the work, you're going to take a bath...

The way I understand it, no import approval docs, no prior rego then no road use. Full or club.

And if this car has had the Vin fiddled then even worse .

I know someone who recently went to register their targa after doing a rebuild resto, only to find it currently registered in WA. Police quickly impounded car and took a grinder to it.
