    Hi Justin
I remember when I was having electrical issues with my 1978 build 930 that David Brennan trading as Nurburgring Mechanical, who looked at my car was having some replacement CDI boxes built up as changeover units. Maybe worth talking to him on 0456 907 908.

        Hi Justin,
I have about a dozen cdi’s (untested as yet) I’m happy to dig one out for you.

Also have a few 6 & 12v coils, any date stamps or special markings required?

            JR,
Why not lash out and buy a Classic Retrofit CDI, they are fantastic, granted it'll cost you a lot more than a 40 year old 'tested' CDI and probably more than a rebuilt unit
but they are reliable and mulit spark across the rev range.
You can keep your old one as a spare ...

that has occurred to me Craig...

And it might be the most cost effective way forward - I thought I would see what people had / didnt need any more first.

I had a Parts Classik one on the SWB - are the Classic Retrofits appreciably better?

Cant comment on Parts Classik, but I replaced my stock CDI and coil on my '70 with Classic Retro gear and it's a noticeable improvement over stock.

I had nothing but trouble with 3 of 5 parts classik units Justin, 3 complete falures

The Classic Retro units get massive raps from anyone who has fitted it twin spark all the way through the range claim to get extra HP because of the unit

It is also programmable via computer to alter spark timing beats playing with the distibutor

I have one that I will fit to the yellow E when it is out of the paint shop

was communication good from them? Craig / Clyde?

Since contacting them a week ago - I've heard crickets.

I don't know how effected they are by COVID and lockdown in the UK but I would have thought Id have had some response by now?

FWIW I simply ordered direct from their website - it was pretty straightforward in terms of knowing which bits to get. All arrived in about 2 weeks (about a year ago mind you..). Johhny is pretty active on Pelican and ESR - maybe ping him on one of those..?

thanks Clyde - I ordered on Tuesday - yet to hear anything as yet.... which is a little disappointing. No despatch information yet.

Will give them the benefit of the doubt for a few more days...
