    1969 911 for sale

    Hi all,

I am looking to sell my 911E sportomatic, an Australian delivered, full matching numbers, fully restored collector quality car.

It looks beautiful and drives superbly after a full restoration in 2015, (see below for more info), that had a strict focus on period correctness. It remains in its original ivory white exterior and brown interior.

Porsche owners more expert than me have commented that it is quite possibly one of the best-restored early 911’s in Australia today and has travelled only 3,800 miles since completion. There is absolutely nothing else to do or to spend on this car.

Some background. A tourist delivery (the original owner kindly provided me with photos he took of the car on the day of delivery from the factory in Stuttgart) on 19 February 1969, it was taken off the road in the early 1990's and garaged for +20 years by the third owner.

Acquired in December 2013, it was subjected to an 18 month full and comprehensive restoration: bare metal body, paint, mechanicals (including all running gear and suspension), interior, full engine & transmission rebuild, with the goal of maintaining originality where possible and period correctness. Receipts and restoration photos available.

Contributors to the restoration included: Ian Low Automotive: (full rebuild of the engine & transmission with all new parts); Chequered Flag Restorations: (bare metal bodywork repair). Mike Tankard: (mechanicals, interior and vehicle assembly).

    The restoration included:
    • New door skins & front fenders
    • New pipework and brake lines
    • New SSI’s
    • Muffler & heater boxes restored
    • All tinware powder coated
    • All suspension components restored
    • Period correct Koni rear shocks
    • Fuchs re-anodozised
    • Period correct Michelin XZX tyres
    • Original dash re-skinned
    • New dash basket weave
    • Instruments cleaned & LED’s added
    • Seats restored
    • Door panels re-trimmed
    • Period correct interior trim, headliner, door pockets and carpet fitted
    • All rubbers and seals replaced
    • Most fittings re-plated
    • Period correct Coco mats added
    • Engine rebuild included taken to 2.2Lt in original case
    • Pedal box, steering shaft, window/doorlock mechanisms
    • Gearshift and handbrake assemblies restored
    • Exterior brightwork either re-adonized, re-chromed or replaced
    • Original durant mirror
    • Becker radio/cassette player
    • Warning switch present
    • Original Bosch rear tail light covers (boxed)

The car has been fully maintained by Darren Bell at AutoCoupe since I bought it in March 2016.

Please PM me for more info including additional photos etc.

    $233,000 ONO

Good luck with the sale Mark. Parked next to you first year you had it out at Federation Square and again on a one of our club runs. It is as nice as you describe. Nev

Thanks Neville. It’s a cracker of a car and somewhat reluctant to let her go but I want restore my Pagoda and look at some other Porsche options. Anyway, I have the lovely 912 I bought from Sean P last year, so hopefully the 901 group will let a 902 in to bring up the rear!

Thanks Nev. The new owner has been looking around for a year or so & took about 3 minutes to make me a great offer - almost my asking price!

Now I can look at some G series.
