Looking around for an original 1968 Comfort seat for restoration. RHS

    Thanks Merv

    Nup... I reckon you're chasing a LHS

Early gurus - I have one seat for Merv with the forward/aft slider lever on the LEFT side of the seat base. To my mind that means the left locking lever works on the right side castellated runner located against the tunnel? However the recline mech lever is also on the left side... Did all these early seats (SWB) have the recline lever on left regardless of whether it's positioned in the left or right side of the car?

Excellent - we can get to the bottom of it.

Matt, what years are your seats from? And am I right in my presumption of the slider mech - the locking side is the side closest to the tunnel? If so, my seat is an odd-bod in so far that the recline mech is definitely on the left but it can only be fitted to the right side of the car.

          I agree with Matt.
There were some weird things with early seats for instance they only secured the passenger seat from tilting forward under hard braking ie the drivers side back rest was free to move but obviously restrained to some degree with the drivers body in situ. saved on an extra set of locking mechanisms.
I think slider and recliner are both outboard.

maybe clarify by saying on early years the castellated bracket was also outboard

My 68 and 69 both have the castellated component on the tunnel side. But Chris, you're saying that on earlier cars, this component was on the door side?

                  Early bases yes
And set up the way you would want them
With locking mechs on both seats
Not sure about Oz but USA only locked passenger side.

Matt are those are the seats you bought from Roland?
Was super disappointed to miss out when they came up.

The sliders you have shown are actually G series

I hate it when I forget to grab someones quote, and yet make a comment on it ....and then the original disappears.
