    Key lodged in ignition barrel

Had the 79 SC out today and the ignition key sheared off inside the barrel. Have removed the ignition assembly, which is a challenge in itself, and wondering has anyone had experience with having the broken key removed from the barrel. At anything up to $1,000 for a replacement ignition assembly interested to know if the local locksmith will be the way to go or do I need a Porsche specialist?

Went to a lock specialist in Rosebud today and he was luckily able to pry the key out of the ignition barrel with a special gadget. 5 minutes and $5 but i reckon 3 hours to pull the ignition switch out and replace it. Could have been done in situ but I wouldn't have had the experience! Luckily my son is a pretty agile Avionics Engineer.
