    New (old) 911SC

I thought I'd share some pics of a new car of mine. I'm quite a fan of the 911SC, as they're a great mix of old and new. Big lazy motor, (sort of) good aircon, a few creature comforts, and a nice simple look, particularly without the big tails of the day...
So I was pretty happy when this low mileage 78 Aussie delivered SC was offered to me.
It was sold through Hamilton's South Yarra and is a black on black coupé with factory aircon (since upgraded), sunroof, and best of all, Black Watch tartan seat inserts.
I picked the car up in Sydney last Friday (thanks to Cavaco Motors who did the PPI), and drove it home to Brisbane via Thunderbolt's Way. I've always wanted to do that run, and it didn't disappoint. And the car didn't miss a beat, despite being used less than frequently over the last number of years.
Here's a few pics of the car. (Incidentally I bought a car a few years back that had been repainted black and had a private plate of 911-BLK. After many years sitting in the shed, I was finally able to dust it off an use it!)

Thanks Craig - the drive was really good. Thanks for the heads up about going via Dungog. That was a nice drive too. A bit bumpy at the end, but the car ate the bumps easily.

Looks really nice Scotty, love the black duco and I am now starting to like tartan seats. Our 79 SC is also Hamiltons' of Melbourne and is red on black, love driving it the other end of the spectrum though with almost 300,000 on the clock, good thing is though the service book is absolutely full of Hamiltons' sevices.
Enjoy the 3 litre is a strong performer. Nev

so many of those roads were gravel up until the '60's and have never been properly maintained at times I wonder where the potholes end and the road begins !
still a worthwhile diversion regards C

Yes, and they're great! I won't have to fork out for a new window sinder switch every 12 months!

I should also add that the car still has a tape deck in it, albeit not an original one.
The PO (who I met at a classic car event last year) kindly left a selection of tapes in the glove box for me, which made my roadtrip home all that much better.
My 12 yo was fascinated by them today, and I had to tell him how to put the tape in , and how to fit the cassette back into the cover. The things we take for granted!

The Burt Bacharach was my favourite.

                              Thanks ,

Your car had a double that lived in Tasmania for many years then Allan took it to NSW where he ran a hotel hence the query.
