    N4 /5 Porsche Compound Pirelli Cn36's 215/60/15 Availability - for C3

Trying to replace the 10 year old Bridgestones on my recently acquired Carrera 3.

I really want to buy locally, and support local businesses, so have been dealing with Stuckeys here in Brunswick. They have been quite helpful.

However the only rear tyres I can get are manufactured in 2017! I'm not prepared to accept tyres that old at full RRP.

Are there local sources other than Stuckeys - as I am taking the car to tassie in April and I want to have them fitted well before that. If the new shipment is delayed (like most things are in this Covid environment) I need to keep my options open

    Thanks

Only an opinion, as I have CN36s on my '65 I'm not sure they would be right for a C3 period wise?

They were up to and including 911Sc when new.

Sean sent me some pics of the car from the original owner when it was near new in the late 70s
It appears to have been delivered with 60 / 70 series tyres... and the cn36 was still the gun tyre for 15 inch wheels

im sure they were changed in time to 50 series p7’s, because that’s what all the cool kids were fitting in the late 70s early 80s

Surprising, using 1960s tyre tech in the early 80s.

They definitely look good on 60s cars.

Yes they do - and I know how good they are having had them on the swb

They look really good on G series too - and the ride and steering feel improves markedly.

I think they came out late 60's - and when through to 77/78.... then the P7 became the tyre to have.

P7's had a relatively long lifespan that, then the A008..... and so it goes.

These new cn36's are original moulds, but modern construction and compound - and Pirelli do one especially for Porsche

                  thanks everyone

I assume Stuckeys are the only local source for these tyres - so will need to wait till late February for fresh tyres to arrive?

I'm certainly not prepared to pay full price for tyres manufactured in 2017.

Longstone Tyres in the UK quoted me approx. the same price inc freight and their delivery would have been quicker.

Yes me too.... have checked them.

But I felt like I should support local.

if I don’t have clarity or confidence by mid February I’ll purchase from Longstone.... who I have bought tyres from before

                        Fair call.

I assume you are one of the 40 odd cars coming to Tas for the tour ,any other 901 members bringing Long Hoods ?

Not sure if I'll make it down to Hobart for the Dinner, limited numbers.

But if you want to explore some back wood Northern Roads let me know .

definitely getting them (the Pirellis) - vendor is still up in the air though....

The ball is firmly in Stuckey's court - and the arrival of their new shipment which is apparently some time next week.

Fingers crossed - as I deep down want to support local businesses in Victoria given the last 12 months .
