Hi Dim - I'll check tonight.

    My car has 7s and 8s ( 15 inch)

Im fairly sure 215/60 on the rear.... these tyres will transform the car Dim - for road use.... Rides, handles, grips beautifully.

I havent had it on the circuit, but if I did would install a set of R spec tyres for that application.

    Hi Justin,
Appreciate this is a very old thread. Do you remember what size CN36 you went on the rears? I can see 185/70 in the pictures of the front tyre. Car looks amazing by the way and love the colour.

I currently have Toyo Proxes R888 on the car which are totally useless for road driving,. Good on track when up to temperature but given thats at best once a year i need to swap these out.
Im based in the UK and looking at the set of 185/70 for the front and 215/60 for the rear on my RS evocation from Longstone.

215/60 VR15 Tyres In 1973 with the to RS and Carrera 911 Models Porsche fitted 185/70 VR15 Pirelli Cinturato CN36 on the front moved on to a wider rear wheels to accommodate the 215/60 VR15 Pirelli Cinturato CN36 that Pirelli are now reproducing with Porsches N homologation. In 1973 when Pirelli developed this tyre a tyre as low as 60% profile was ground braking technology. This 215/60 VR15 CN36 was the first 60 profile tyre fitted to production cars.. Porsche continued to fit 215/60 VR15 tyres to the rear of cars through to the ‘80s and into the 911 SC models. Although in period Pirelli first made their 215/60 VR15 Cinturato CN36 as tube type tyres. It wasn’t long before tyre manufacturers learnt not to fit inner tubes in tyres with a profile such as 215/60 VR15. And they only fitted inner tubes in 70% profile and above tyres. Around the same time wheel manufacturers learned to improve their rim profiles to have a safety rib making them more suited to tubeless tyres such as the current 215/60 WR 15 Cinturato CN36. Porsche 911 on 215/60 VR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36 Tyres 215/70 VR15 The current production of these tyres is actually a 215/60WR15 tyre. The current tyre now qualifies for a W speed rating, which wasn’t available in period. There was no 215/60WR15 tyres, in period it was VR, Hence in period the tyre had 215/60 VR15 written on its sidewall. 15" PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36 Dimensions Tyre Size Load Index Section Width Overall Diameter Recommended Rim Width 165 VR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36 N 87 = 545 kgs 165 mm / 6.49" 645 mm / 25.39" 4.0" - 5.5" 175/70 WR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36 86 = 530 kgs 176mm / 6.92" 626 mm / 24.65" 4.5" - 6.0" 185/70VR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36 N 89 = 580 kgs 196 mm / 7.72" 637 mm / 25.07" 5.0" - 6.5" 215/60 VR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36 N 94 = 670 kgs 228 mm / 8.97" 639 mm / 25.16" 6.0" - 7.5" The Overall Diameter of the 215/60 VR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO ™ CN36 N is 639 mm and the width is 230 mm. definitely getting them (the Pirellis) - vendor is still up in the air though....

The ball is firmly in Stuckey's court - and the arrival of their new shipment which is apparently some time next week.

Fingers crossed - as I deep down want to support local businesses in Victoria given the last 12 months .

    Fair call.

I assume you are one of the 40 odd cars coming to Tas for the tour ,any other 901 members bringing Long Hoods ?

Not sure if I'll make it down to Hobart for the Dinner, limited numbers.

But if you want to explore some back wood Northern Roads let me know .

    Banjo's optional

Yes me too.... have checked them.

But I felt like I should support local.

if I don’t have clarity or confidence by mid February I’ll purchase from Longstone.... who I have bought tyres from before

Longstone Tyres in the UK quoted me approx. the same price inc freight and their delivery would have been quicker.

    thanks everyone

I assume Stuckeys are the only local source for these tyres - so will need to wait till late February for fresh tyres to arrive?

I'm certainly not prepared to pay full price for tyres manufactured in 2017.

Yes they do - and I know how good they are having had them on the swb

They look really good on G series too - and the ride and steering feel improves markedly.

I think they came out late 60's - and when through to 77/78.... then the P7 became the tyre to have.

P7's had a relatively long lifespan that, then the A008..... and so it goes.

These new cn36's are original moulds, but modern construction and compound - and Pirelli do one especially for Porsche
