Carrera 3.0 Targa at CTS

I was wondering if anyone here knows details about the talbot yellow 1977 Carrera 3.0 that Classic Throttle Shop has for sale. They bought it from a private seller in Melbourne back in March when it was advertised for $135k, then put it up for sale at $159k (it is not on consignment). It had a sold sign on it last week, but that must have fallen through as it is readvertised. I thought someone here might have known the car when it was in Melbourne. Thanks.

I know a little about it - it wasn't it Melbourne all that long.

It spent 20 + years in Sydney prior to coming to Melbourne - the fellow who operates Cliff to Coast Porsche rentals had it from the late 90's.

It came to Melbourne probably 2 years ago - I remember it took about a day to sell when it was posted at that time.

I saw the car a few times around and about in Melbourne. It's a well maintained, well used car in a distinctive period colour.... and c3 Targas are quite rare. Mileage was highish - I cant remember exactly how many - but these cars absorb the miles particularly if they have been well maintained (like this one appears to have been).

Thanks Justin. Much appreciated. Yes, CTS grabbed it inside of a day when it was advertised in March. Suspect they thought they’d make a quick $15k or so, but it has sat a bit longer than I believe they expected. They had the trunk lid repainted and detailed the car, but I don’t think they did anything else. Thanks again.

Came to a deal I was happy with. Peter, the previous owner was very helpful. Along with Andre who did the PPI. It’ll be here in a few weeks hopefully. In time for warmer weather.
