    Headlight restoration kits - VW

Been meaning to have a go at 'restoring' my son's faded headlights on his golf. Had a crack this afternoon - not 100% but much better than it was. Used Turtle headlight restorer; but was much easier with 2000 and 3000 wet and dry rather than the little pads they supply. The base coast and protective coats they provide make a big difference .. Before and after shots below.. Next time I'll used masking tape - though I doubt my son will see where I've scuffed some small patches around the headlight ... he's only ever washed his car once ! Ah to be 19 again

That looks much better. Is it a paste that you rub on with the wet and dry or is that a separate step ? Certainly cheaper than new lights or lenses.

A liquid they supply - but water works just as well with the wet and dry

+1 on 3000 and 4000 W/D on any job, followed by some correct polish
