phase out cars made prior to 2002?!?

would make it interesting for us older car enthusiasts?!?

Many old cars are lasting much longer than in the past, reducing the incentive for drivers to buy a newer, safer vehicle.

But there won't be the next generation of classics unless they allow the continuation and extension of the club permit scheme as they become elligible. Sounds contradictory.

The UK system recently introduced is probably what they will follow. Older cars don't need to have an MOT any further there, unless they have been modified, thus increasing the value of originality.

Classic Cars are not a problem according to the article. What needs to be crash tested is the alcohol industry and the way it is glamourised to teenagers and the extent to which it is embedded in sporting clubs. Driver education is lacking in this country and ,as in some more enlightened schools, should be part of the curriculum., such as the SAE Challenge and similar technology programs.

Kids don't drink as much these days but they do spend way too much time using their phone while driving! Saw a guy recently watching a video while driving down a major arterial road!
