    Volkswagen Beetle 1956

This car had been in a shed in the Barossa since the original owner stopped driving it in 1979.
It is original paint with 71000mls and all service and delivery books.
I have given it a bit of a tidy up and was able to get it registered today

Great pick up Chris. Without the books and the history it still would have been an awesome find.

        How cool is that!
Looks brilliant and you don't even need an angle grinder to manufacture that patina! Hipsters will be freaking out all over the place
        Really love it!

Wow what a find! The mohair headliner looks mint ... surely not original carpet tho?
Imagine how well a period set of Marchal spots would light up those country roads ... not to mention look the part!
Is it the correct engine and so you have all the original rims?

I have all original rims but only the spare has it’s original two tone paint.

Headliner is original as are the rubber mats, however I had new carpet set made up.
Engine is original and runs sweetly.
The second service book shows servicing up to the current mileage.
Just have to stump up $3500 to SA rego to get the rights to display the original 6 digit number plates

                  That's epic Chris .... I wish I'd never sold my '54 and '55 beetles.

Did you know the rims are date stamped?

Is it a 1 time only fee for the old plates?

I didn't know that the rims were stamped.

Yes plates are a once only payment, I am tempted, because I have both of the old steel plates with great patina, although they will issue me with new versions.

A beaut Chris. Reminds me of another car you found down there! Similar colours too. Is the tool kit reasonably complete?

Have a look on the outside of the rim ...
