Just thought i'd share this (taken from Evo magazine, Jan 2006 issue). Don't ever feel too bad about the cost of our obsession !!:

Chap counting the cost of his Lambo Murcielago (car in rather a fetching orange I must say):

- acquired Sept 2004, total mileage in just over a year of 21,021 miles
- insurance 2,600
- first service 1,129
- second service 2,908
- third service 995
- two addn oil changes 370
- 2 sets of pirellis 1,816
- brake pads 303
- exhaust (he says .. optional but advisable ..) 2,800
- i won't include the Sat Nav ... not strictly mechanical
- petrol .. .average 11 mpg ... 7,850
TOTAL RUNNING COSTS ... just under 21,000

Now that's not A$, it's not even US$ ... that is POUNDS STERLING !!!!

AND THEN .... there's more ....
- depreciation ... at least 35,000 POUNDS ... in a year
- nose job paint spray of 1,500

and lastly, he says he needs to keep the mileage down as it's replacement is due in the next few months ....
