Some shots from around our property after last nights downpour.

We had a huge branch come off a liquid amber and took out the power line to my daughter's place next door. No point ringing the SES, so Julie and I got busy with the chainsaw. SP Ausnet advise that power won't be re-connected until tomorrow ..... don't they know who I am (obviously not!)

This is the "before" and "after" with the branch. Rather a tricky job to remove as I had to minimize further damage to the tree it was leaning on and also avoid breaking the phone line which was under the top section of the branch....but Mr and Mrs Upwey came through with flying colours.

Geez Peter,

Hope the damage bill isn't too much... I was in upper ferntree gully visiting my brother last night and nearly hit a tree coming home from his place, my peugeot 205 aquaplaning all over the road !! Don't think I would have faired so well in the Porsche...

It all ends up in the rivers - Yarra River at Fitsimmons Lane, Lower Plenty.

Couldn't save the irrigation pump though!! That's normally over 20 foot above water level.
