    thought some might enjoy

some toys, unfortunately not mine but some friends. The camaro has over 600hp and the cobra 550Hp. The cobra owner has a 997 turbo as a daily driver and feels the cobra is faster.

Love those early Camaros. The Cobra probably is faster, in a straight line, but I'd say the 997 would have a higher top speed, and be a whole lot safer.
    Cheers Mick

Hi Paul, I think your on the money there! The Cobra is a faithful recreation of the early race cars. As I sat in the passenger seat I was told how 2 of the early test drivers lost their lives in a similar car. It is brutally fast.... And requires great skill to drive (fast) It's actually my sister inlaws partners car who happens to race GT3's. He knows how to steer and is used to LHD cars.
Certainly turned some heads when he took me for a spin.

It always strikes me how small these early 911s are but that side by side shot really highlights the different mindset of car makers in the day, Great looking cars Chuck! Big block I assume?

I love the Camaro above as well except for the modern wheels and low profile rubber, just isn't right!

              cheers

Hey Chuck ! nice to hear from you on our Forum.

Its been a while since I was in your garage - but nothings changed much it seems.

I often compare the size of my early 911 with others cars parked in my garage and cant believe how small they look in comparison. They dont feel that small once you're inside and driving fast.

Still remember that late evening run you took me on in yr blue car up in the hills. I now have a 2.7 under the hood in my '72E and it feels like it goes just as fast.

Would be great to see you Downunder sometime soon. Any chance you might visit ?
