Car hire options - west coast USA

    Hoping someone can help

I'm heading off to the US in September we are spending 10 days travelling down the West Coast would love to hire a classic preferably convertible wondering if anyone else has done this

We will be travelling one way from San Francisco to LA.

Already looked at a few car hire options but not had much luck

The default car to hire will be a convertible mustang if I cannot find anything else

Thanks in advance for your help

You're probably not going to find a 'classic' car hire going only one way...

We've just gone through it all as a contingent of us early Porsche guys will be in LA/SFC for Rennsport in September. We've got a Griswold Family Truckster (Chevy Tahoe) and a Mustang between 7 of us. Five of us will then be in the Truckster doing a Yosemite/Vegas drive and back to LA.

The http://www.vroomvroomvroom.com.au/usa-car-rental/ website is a good one for comparing across the rental providers. But one-way is always a bit harder and more expensive to sort...

I trust you're driving the Big Sur (Pacific Highway)? One of the best driving roads in the world...

I'm sure Hertz may have a Mustang for hire?

Thanks for tips on classic difficulty going one way- modern muscle car it might have to be!

A couple of companies do the big Dodges and Camaros if you don't want a pony car.
