Melbourne. Rob Roy Revival. Hill climb and display. 18/19 March 2023

An Invitation to have a club display at the Rob Roy Revival

A weekend festival of historic motorsport, live entertainment and period atmosphere is coming to Australia’s oldest Hillclimb track for the inaugural Rob Roy Revival on 18 and 19 March 2023. Set in the Yarra Valley at Christmas Hills, Rob Roy Revival will recreate the atmosphere of 1950s and 60s motorsport with spectators encouraged to dress in period style.

Organised by the MG Car Club Victoria in collaboration with the Victorian Historic Racing Register, Rob Roy Revival will see 75 invited historic racing cars compete for awards. Australian Champion Driver John Bowe AM is the event, Patron.

The Rob Roy paddock will be lined with marquees, where spectators will be able to get up close to the cars and talk to the drivers and crew.

Entrants will include pre-war Grand Prix cars, MGs with international racing pedigrees, Australian Specials from the 30s to the 50s, including cars that competed in the 1953 Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park, along with Brabhams, Elfins, Coopers and Lolas, historic touring cars and sports sedans. A feature of the event will be a tribute to Garrie Cooper’s Elfin marque, with ten Elfins competing.

There will be a range of gourmet food and beverage options, along with market and trade stalls. Live music and fashion shows will be presented from the stage.

We would be delighted to offer your club dedicated parking to allow you to picnic together and would like to advise that the early bird ticket prices close 28 February this month, and tickets will remain on sale after that unless capacity is reached. There is also a discount of $10.00 for parking if your club members arrive and park in a classic car.

This is a fully ticketed event, so booking online is essential. For more information about the Rob Roy Revival and to book your tickets go to https://www.robroyrevival.mgcc.com.au/

Could we also request that you distribute this invitation to your members via your club’s contacts, as well as share on social media.

    Yours sincerely
    Rod Cooper, Chairman
    Rob Roy Revival Committee
