I am away at present and don't have access to my database. But the exact numbers and types of cars that came in pre 1969 are not precisely known as they were not originally recorded that way.
I think from memory I have a copy of a letter from about 1990 saying that in 1967 (not sure if model year or calendar year but i think MY) only about 32 cars of all types came in - that would include 912's as well.
I will try to find it and post details when i get home.

My research leads me to believe there were 3 RHD 1967 model 911S cars delivered to Australia. One of them was the red car that the Hamiltons had in Melbourne and that was featured on the front cover of Australian Motor Sports & Automobiles magazine in February 1967 (erroneously labelled as Feb '66 on the cover). I don't know where that car is today. I know of another two in Sydney, one that I believe was originally blue and the other is the one I've owned for the past 17 years: a March '67 delivery, light ivory sunroof coupe that is believed to be the first 911 to see proper racing in Australia (at Warwick Farm in September, 1967) - and that was featured on the front cover of Racing Car News in February, 1968. The best central database of all known existing RHD 1967 911S cars worldwide has been compiled (over many years) by a gentleman in Scotland. When I was last in touch with him he could account for a remaining global total of 23 cars (of which approximately half were known to be still roadworthy at that time). There may be more out there -- as has been mentioned, complete, detailed official records of the day aren't really available -- but none have come to my attention in almost twenty years...

Welcome I know Hugh...... your ex Velma Clark car was looking the business when I last saw it at Autohaus.

When do you hope to have it finished, and more importantly when do you plan to wet its head. Such a comprehensive and accurate resto deserves a celebration I think.

Thanks Justin, after three years on this resto if there's one thing I've learned it's not to get too hung up on deadlines! That said I'd like to have it all done by this Spring, at which point I think some kind of a head wetting is definitely in order! And you'll be happy to know I was only recently cannibalising a pair of tan SWB seats you sold me (circa 2000) for recliner parts...

                          Bram.

Pleased about that Bram. I was only thinking what became of those seats a few weeks ago. Please they were of some use.
