    Help with 1976 912e

    Hi folks,

This is my first every posting on a car site. Not quite sure if anyone can help, but I'm looking for an original radio and speakers for my 1976 912E.

In addition, I'm wondering how many 1976 912E's are out there ?

    Thanks again
    Paul

    Hi Paul,

obviously you know that the 912E was a USA only car, so if sourcing a radio I would look on the 912BBS forum.
They have a 912E sub section, and are generally very helpful.

          Hello,
I'm seeking a lower dash faring (with aircon vents) for my 1976 912E Porsche.
I'd love some help in locating one of these.

There was something I saw recently on this. Will see if I can find it.

Paul I am not exactly sure which AC part you 000_00011309899739.jpg are looking for. Is it this one?

These come up on the Pelican Parts Classifieds and with the 67 912E being a one year only model I suggest that you keep a patient look out on there. Same on the speakers and grilles like these https://forums.pelicanparts.com/pors...s-grilles.html

The Porsche 912 Forum that Chris refers to has seemed to be closed for "repairs' for some time now.

On Radios these should be shared with the 911 of the time - the closest I could see was the Blaupunkt "F series" until 1975 see Charlie White's guide http://derwhites356literature.com/De...nktRadios.html However, I am pretty sure your is the H Code Blaupunkt.

See: http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/blaupun...s_7636622.html and this thread shows more detail https://forums.pelicanparts.com/pors...io-h-code.html

This one is a K code and reportedly came from a 911 and did not sell on the Classifieds https://forums.pelicanparts.com/pors...-us-radio.html

In Australia, radios were usually dealer fitted and included the Pioneer Pioneer KP-8000 radio / cassette head units or similar in and around 1977 to 1979. Most owners just uprated to modern radios like these nice ones on

Not sure what you mean Merv, if this guy wants USA 912E bits that link I posted is the most likely source and is very active and helpful.
Maybe someone else can test my link..... it works when I click it?

It does indeed Chris. I had used the Porsche 912 Registry Forum URL as an entry point for 912E info, and that is under repair http://www.912registry.org/content.a...dule_id=225840

I should have gone further obviously. Just trying to help a new member who was less familiar with the various 'sites we use and doing a little digging around on the items asked about.

                        Hi,

I'm looking for the piece that runs along the underside of the dash from side to side. Not sure of its technical name.
Ive attached a couple of pics.
                        best regards

Paul, this VPC AC console unit looks like yours https://griffiths.com/product/vpc-replacement-vents/

                            Hi,
Unfortunately, I need the entire console not just the vents.

Last try from me Paul - if it was me, I would be writing to those guys to see if they had the plenum/console pictured there also. It seems an aftermarket or dealer fitted product at the time and also looks as though heat and sun would damage any surviving original ones.

You can buy a full kit from Retro Air and maybe they will sell you their plenum only (below)? It is worth a try even thought it looks different from yours it seems less of an 'add on'.

                              Good luck
