I've been in that shed. It was outside one of the buildings at old Werke 1 before they were demolished some years ago to make way for new buildings. It was where new cars had some final prep done before/after road tests. I was very lucky to have toured this part of the factory many years ago being guided by guys from the Porsche Classic dept. They also took me into the engine build room where race and rally engines and transmissions were built. Even back then they didnt allow cameras so I dont have any pics. A pity because many of those parts of the old factory are now gone, remembered only in some of the old posters which showed various old Porsches and race cars photographed in and around Werke 1 & 2.sigpicPhil Lack

Shaun what is the car? And what is the steering wheel? I am of the opinion that it is an impact bumper competition car and the wheel is an early thick(1974/1975) with the solid steel frame from a carrera/turbo. The solid frame wheels which were mainly standard thickness were replaced by the pressed steel wheel around 1979?
