    Odometer

My odometer and trip meter stopped working on the drive today ; any suggestion on where to go to get it fixed (or suggestions if it’s a simple fix)?

    Speedo still works.

Its a known problem if you try to reset the trip meter whilst moving. Ringwood speedo can fix it, its a relatively straightforward repair. Cant remember what they charged me though.

Try resetting the trip meter to 999 or zero while stationary and see if that works, otherwise as Phil recommends.

Gary King, Ringwood Speedometer Services is the man Marcus. He'll be getting my clock soon as that stopped working recently- for the first time since I purchased the car in 2000.
BTW I reset the trip meter on the move today, but fortunately no problem - thanks for the warning Phil

Thanks all; I'll try the 99 while stationary , else off to Ringwood speedo. At the same time they can look at my clock which loses time

Marcus, Ringwood Speedo fixed my 993 odometer a year ago - he can sometimes do it whilst u wait - u hv to prearrange that with him though.

Marcus, I confirm my high recommendation for Gary King at Ringwood Speedometer Services. Picked up my (Julie's) Ducati speedo yesterday which had seized and snapped cable- speedo repaired and new cable made - very reasonable price and very timely. I'll now take my Porsche clock to him for repair.

Ok - given the lock down, I thought it would be a good time to pull my speedo out and take it Ringwood Speedos. (have arranged to take it on Friday)

However I can't work out how to remove the trip meter reset cable ...

                    1) I understand that this is should remain attached to the speedo - is that right?

                    2) I can remove the odo reset knob - but can't work out how to unscrew the fitting from the dash ?

                    Any help gratefully received ..

                    thanks in advance..

Odo and clock now both fixed, reinstalled and working fine. Total of $286 .. which I think is good value.
