I recently had the HVAC unit for my 993 fully restored (fascia & electrics) by Bergvill in Norway. He arranged collections & delivery by courier. The process took less than two weeks including shipping. Not sure if they do older cars but worth checking.....I was very happy with the service & product.

          Gavin,
They're not a bad project to take on DIY.
Careful prep and some judicous masking will get you a great result and if the knobs are stuffed they can be purchased new from any of the US suppliers.

Maybe I should try that Craig... then if I screw it up I can always send it to a professional... "it was like that when I got the car.."

Agree with Craig’s advice. As long as you’re careful, you’ll end up with a good result.

                Gavin,
These popped up on ES and would be worth picking up to have a crack at restoring
Selling both of these heater controls for $100 plus shipping. One is damaged and can be used for parts.

Thanks Craig - will check that out.

Is the facia itself able to be removed without removing the entire mechanism? Seems not, but happy to be educated..
