    Anodising in Sydney

    Hello all
I would be most grateful if anyone could help, looking for a Anodising company in Sydney to do my 69 911 window frames.
    Cheers

    Blue,
Getting someone to clear anodise is the easy part. The problem I had in restoring my frames was getting someone who was prepared to do the 3 steps necessary; strip the old anodising, then polish the frames and then anodise.
Through Depulu wheels in Queensland I was put on to this fellow https://www.facebook.com/Strike-A-Sh...4955538245435/ and he did a fantastic job, not sure if he's still doing car parts.
If you do a search on Pelican there are some threads on how to remove the old anodising (lye), then you'll need a metal polisher and some people opt to leave them un anodised, another option ?

          Steve,

you will find you are quite limited on who can do correct anodising on Fuchs wheels. As Craig has said above, finding someone who understands and can perform all the required steps in the process is not easy. I was talking with Jason from Chequered Flag Restos yesterday (Forum sponsor) and he lamented that getting chrome plating done these days due to strict EPA requirements, is really hard. Perhaps anodising companies also face stricter regulations these days making the process either impossible or unprofitable due to compliance issues ?

One of our Forum members owns a company in Melbourne (Electromould) that does specialised anodising (aircraft and military parts) and the company has done some work for me in the past, but I think that was before his company acquired it.

          Good luck with your hunt.

            Here is their website: http://www.electromold.com.au/home

Marcus Lovitt is our Forum member who's company owns Electromold. Not sure of his forum name but you could probably search the forum. However he is located in Melbourne so this might be a problem for you being in Sydney.

                Steve,
I dropped down to Hamilton Chrome and they will strip and polish the frames, they would still need to be shipped somewhere for anodising,
another option if the above doesn't pan out.

Apologies Phil I hadn't seen this thread at all.

Yes we've moved out of the car stuff (as my own wheels are testament to), almost all Aero & Defence now.
