    Fog light switch

Up the final part of my Hella 139 install - the switch. I bought the repro from SMC but it’s too deep - hits on the wiper motor. This seems to be the same repro available elsewhere - is it actually the same shape/size as original? I’m kinda stuck now…

    That is a 356 switch.
im sure I have a 911 one in my stash, not sure it is going to solve your issue though, I will get a picture for you.

The shape of the pull knob is quite different to the 356 one also.
Although these are correct for an early car, not sure of your application?

All the usual suspects list that same switch I bought as the right one for 911's up to '73... frustrating.

A bit of digging seems to indicate those of yours are for up to '69 cars.. That being said if you have them handy could you measure their depth from where to sit against the rear of the dash panel to the end of the contacts please?

36mm depth, although if you look at the way the globe exits the back of the switch on my photo, it seems a fair bit of clearance would be required.
FWIW I think the switch stayed the same but the knob became bulkier after 1969, 902.613.623.90P10402771636481851.jpg

Thanks - yeah I see that. I'll do some measuring later. Might need to forgo the light to get a functioning switch.

I have the (proper) light switch in my car at the correct position and there are no issues with clearance
the one Chris is showing is for USA cars with the extra rubber protection and accompanying plastic part to signify a light / fog light etc
ours and most of the world did not have that and the ROW version can be found underneath that USA add on
there are plenty available second hand on ebay, earlyS etc. although the three stage ones (front , back and both) are a lot harder to find
they are essentially the same up to the end of 73MY although they may have different part numbers

I was rummaging around the shop and I found some switches and I thought I would go ahead and post them here. They are untested and of course I will accept returns and immediately refund your money if there are any problems.
