    Maxlite Fuchs

There is some chat on PFA that, rather than spending $1k per wheel for anodising restoration at Depulu (http://www.depuluwheels.com/), you're better to box up the original wheels and put Maxlite replicas on. Pricing these from http://www.classicwheels.net.au/ comes in at $2600 for polished and $2800 for anodised (correct for 901?). What does everyone think?

Look OK to me, although I couldn't confirm price from the website....I guess you're right Scott. What sizes do they come in....15's and 14's? Widths?
Also the company is a club sponsor so if you're considering purchase you may (or may not) get a discount if you mention being a TYP901 member.

Sorry that pricing was specifically for deep 6 fuchs. Not sure the other sizes they sell.

Not sure on cut off date for deep 6 with hearts and then on to flat six.
What build date is car, are the rims ok?
        I like factory.
leaning towards just repainting blackouts and leaving original anodising as is if not totally stuffed, esp if car is not conc.

I think your 69S would have had deep 6 with hearts, don't think they do hearts though do they? Often can't tell if your rims are perfect until (A) you strip them (B) check them for roundness and at that stage your so far in you need to keep going.

I like Sean's idea of redoing the paint on originals unless they are in bad shape.

I prefer original look for an extra $200 if you go to Maxlite and Duplo don't paint dip anyway so they paint in the back and not correctly on the lips either last time I saw their work.

I have a set of the Maxlite for my 75 Carrera and they are great. really good quality and new metal !!
If you are after concours then you would restore the originals.

Yes, I have a near matching set of Deep 6 with hearts for it.

Who does paint dip restore fuchs properly in AU? Or do you need to send to the US?

I've had these 16x9 maxilite on the rear of my 930 since 07.
They are showing weathering, unlike the Fuchs.
I'd look at clear coating with flattening base when new to help hold out the new look.

Only one guy and he hates doing them and charges accordingly way more than duplo it's a 4 stage process to get them done at 4 different places. Very time consuming.

Mask your own up and rattle can them if your not that fussed.
I did with these deep six years ago, moved the black in away from the lip for a different look.( didn't bother cleaning for photo ).

                          Yes.
Running a set of deep six fuchs all round on it atm.
Have these correct date matched set (7/67) of 5.5x15 restored fuchs on shelf done by the guy that hates doing them that Clyde mentions above for later on.
