Hi All,
I am new to the forum.
Bit of background. Currently living in London but originally from Melbourne.
I own an Australian delivered 1970 911E. The car was imported into the UK in 2016 (not by me) and is currently undergoing a bare metal restoration at Rindt Vehicle Design here in the UK. My plan is to bring the car back home with me when we return to Australia .
The car is far from original and not a matching numbers. The previous owner in Australia painted the car white, swapped out the engine for a 3.2, and turned the car into an RS Replica with red decals in the early 2000's.
Given its too far gone from the original E, ive decided to keep the flared arches and duck tail but have painted the car back in its original Signal Orange. The interior is also having a complete overhaul with period correct leather, vinyl and pepita seat inserts.
Engine wise, the 3.2 is now gone and a 2.7l with a number of mods mainly bore to 2.8l, 92mm pistons and weber 40IDA carbs is now in the car.
A few pics of the car in its current state. Hope to have it back on the road for the last of the summer/autumn weather here in the UK before it goes into dry storage for the winter.
Special shout out and thank you to Peter Williams who i met during my recent trip back home. Thanks for dropping off the welcome pack Pete!
Cheers,
DJ
