    Carburetor Rebuilds

    Hi all-

I need to have my Solex carbs fully restored - (not just cleaned & rebuilt with new gaskets/limited parts etc). - but all air leaks removed: flat mating the surfaces, potentilly rebore the throats to round & new butterflies, bushings in throttle bodies due to badly worn shafts, check all jets are the correct size etc. etc.

There must be plenty of +50 year Porsches that have had some sort of this work on their carbs.

Can anyone recommend vendors who provide this service or at least know of them that I can call to discuss - either in Melbourne or Australia wide??

    cheers

https://www.weberperformance.com.au/ was who I used to do my 67S carbs. Did a great job. He might be able to tell you if they can do the Solex's.

There are a number of specialists in the UK who have all the bits you need as the Solex's have to be run for the 2 litre cup cars. Historika, Maxted Page, Prill, there are lots overseas.

Thanks Alex - I will call them to ask and mention you suggested them.

I guess I need to reach out to our 356 community as well !

Called https://www.weberperformance.com.au/ today - they don't touch Solex.

They referred me to Lee at Sandy Carbies (Factory 1/ 30 Advantage Rd, Highett VIC ).

Lee works on all types of carbs (and fuel pumps), including on Porsches, although reboring carb barrels may be a challange.
