Long time for an update but finally got a solution for the exhaust

Danks produced a new sports style muffler but with flanges for mating to SSI and normal heat exchangers

Sadly the outlets were in the wrong place but David Belford fixed that quick smart.

Muffler is off to the ceramic coaters and then we are good to go I think..........finally

          It looks awesome Clyde.

What colour ceramic coating are you going for?

Are they TB15's you have on? I hope those sticky tyres don't flick up stones and ruin your nice paint work.

Yes Douglas TB 15's and we are taking precautions

Fairly dark grey I think certainly a bit darker than factory muffler colour

Looked stupid didn't they, plenty others will have the same issue if they buy this muffler as it currently is

It will help in reducing the heat and associated damage to the bumper as well as the discoloration/staining,
but yes, it does look silly.

Yes Patrick that is why we did not push it hard up to the bumper when re positioning the pipes

Co-incidentally the current ESSES mag which arrived yesterday (and you probably have also) has a feature article on "The Last 911 ST". Photo from rear differs slightly from yours in that there are no bumper cut-outs and no over-riders (just the fixing brackets). Muffler looks just as low as yours.

Enjoy Canada and pass on our best wishes to Michael.

Yes that is the full steel rear end which I agonised about replicating, no one raced them like that but that was how they left the factory, mine has the fibreglass rear bumper.

Easy to change to that "leave the factory" look though just need 2 RS bumpers and a centre panel and some more paint...which I have

Wish I had what they have in the engine bay though.

Great article thanks for alerting Peter as mine might have sad idle on the desk until I got home!!
