Hang on a minute, you had to actually BE at Rennsport to lift one of them. If I remember correctly he had some weak excuse about turbo issues and couldn't make it!

Chris must've had a trusted agent acquire one legitimately

Looks like he might have liberated it from the first rennsport, along with my Porsche cap.

The Rennsport banner was a gift from a friend, and he seems honest enough

The old fuel tank was toast and you cannot get correct repros for Pre '68 so I had to go with the available Dansk offering.
The spare wheel section is full circle on early cars, not angled away.
So although it wont be seen it was worth a quick modification.
Expanding foam formed my base, I then sculpted that as best I could before a bit of polyester filler, and a complete recoating of epoxy.

Next up will be finding a close to original Grey colour for the top coat and having an attempt at making a "Sombrero which is a one piece bitumous overlay.
Correct colour seems to be somewhere around RAL7042 Traffic Grey

It didn't really fit in to the what did you get in the mail thread, so I thought I would share it here.

This is a 1954 Myford ML7 Lathe made in the UK.

I know that everyone likes some history with their cars, and I can't compete there, however the original owner of this lathe was a Sydney gentleman who was the inventor of Glad Wrap.

Anyway my first serious job out of school was as an apprentice and I went on to work as a Toolmaker, so this is revisiting my youth.

What can go wrong here?.... sneaking the new machine through a gap.

                            Safely in his new home.

Mr Glad Wrap, nice purchase. looks very much at home there next to the drill press and pedestal. Now I know who to call for all those small intricate engineering jobs.

                                Hi Chris

Being nosy here ... is that a porsche pedal car on top of the cupboard??

                                Cheers
