Cleaned things up and epoxied and then applied some Upol Gravitex for the texture.

Would have been nice to go straight on and apply some satin black over the top, but there is some weird weather here at the moment, and it was just too humid to do so.

Chris your metal working skills are truly impressive. Great thread.

With the dipping paint stripping process is there any scope for future corrosion issues?

Paul, it is an alkaline bath, which the car body sits in for 5-8 days which removes paint, body filler, tar etc. it is then neutralised and pressure cleaned. the process removes no steel at all. Even corroded sections remain completely as they were, underneath the previous surface coatings.
I will put up a picture later that shows the factory printed stamping of date and batch codes for the steel floor pan.
I think the main issue is to make sure all the hard to access cavities end up with some sort of coating for on going corrosion protection.

I think that media blasting has a place, but on precious old cars like these I use a portable unit, only to do tricky areas.

Her are some images of the original markings on the floor pan of the car.
They clearly show the stamping dates.
If the car had been media blasted this detail would have been lost.

Good work Chris to now have a photographic record of this before you paint over it.

Centre tunnel inside and out, only painted separately because it is not getting the texture finish.

Inside roof, finished colour over the two stage Lizard Skin coating.
