After 31 years, the original engine and body of my 71 T were reunited for the first time.
In November 1984, Reg Mort removed the original motor from 71T and replaced it with one of his 2.8litre HotRod motors he was well known for. The original motor to was pushed into the back of his workshop and eventually sold on when the banks foreclosed on Reg and his business. When I bought the body in early 2015, I started the search for the original motor and with help from some great folks from this forum and a lot of luck, I eventually located the engine in the rafters at David Jenej's business Allsport 911 in Melbourne. With David’s help I repatriated the engine back to Perth, where Brendan Anesbury from K-Tech Perth, rebuilt the engine and transmission for me and yesterday, after 31 years, the rebuilt original motor and the rebuilt body were finally re-united.
A very nice early christmas present.
