Yes, it's paint in Grand prix white all around first, then silver for the outside only and then the fun starts with the Martini striping and logos.
Then it will be building back up. I've got most of the suspension, brake and wiring items sorted, but the engine is yet to be started on, so I reckon we're still just over a year away from having it ready. Fingers crossed
grand prix is a beautiful shade of white.Aus del 68 911S

A few progress pictures.
Did some dry fitting yesterday of the dual-pedal box, the two fuel pumps, the twin-coil, fitted a few lines through the tunnel and tried fitting the front sway bars.
I also managed to connect most of the 3 instruments (there's a few wires I can't seem to find) so not a bad day.
There's soooo many things still to do, but I'm pretty chuffed with the progress we're making whilst we're waiting for a spot in the paint shop.

For me, work has been busy, and apparently Jason (at Chequered Flag) is not getting bored either, with car shows and other things coming up, so progress has been slow to say the least.
I'm still hoping we'll get the car painted in one of the next couple of weeks but it did give me the opportunity to read up and find some parts that I will need to complete the car.
Although R6 had megaphones and I absolutely would love to have those on the car, I'm afraid the Vic police force (and my neighbors) would probably be less impressed.
So I think I may resort to getting myself a Porsche classic standard muffler (I don't like the Dansk ones) and weld 2 extra exit pipes on it right under the overriders. I therefor bought these European Racing headers, first because they look exactly like the original spaghetti pipes most RSRs sported, but also since this setup allows me to change to megaphones in the future if I do want to try those. They arrived earlier this week and look absolutely gorgeous. It's almost a shame you won't see any of it once they're fitted.
Then I also ran into someone offering a set of genuine RSR 4-bearing, centre lubed camshafts with their housings. They come up every once in a while, but seeing these were only fitted in 906 racers (~50 made), 2.8RSRs (55 made) and 3.0RSRs (~60 made), you can imagine I am pretty chuffed to have scored these for the car.
Now I may come to regret this decision, as the cam profile is obviously set up for racing, so the car may really struggle to cope with a fairly small useable rev-band, but hey: the price you pay for originality. If people really think I'm a w*nker for keeping it revving at the traffic light then so be it
^^I'll have to redo the wiring for the fuel pumps as that does not look like what Porsche used....
