Looks like the one Dave Belford built a while ago and was sold by Classic Road and Track. has a set of my seats in it.

Slightly misleading there were 6 1973 Aussie S Targas, 4 manual and 2 Sportos and this is one of the 2 sportos.

It definately is the same car as Phil mentioned used to be Craigs car he is still crying about that sale.

agreed................ and at almost $390K it is a HUGE jump in ask from when it was last sold at CTS in 2012 (the ask then was $145K and I understood it transacted at not much over $100K)
since then it has done all of 300 miles, at least according to the gauges (in 2012 it was showing 73,078 miles ; now 73,352miles.

I hope it sells at that level, cause it will make me look less crazy when i end up listing my rhd targa in the coming months..

I received a notification from Carsales today that this car had been sold or withdrawn. I also received CTS Pitlane April and this car is highlighted in their new cars update.

                    I know the current owner.

Is it worth it? The market will determine that.

but I do know of an Australian Targa that sold for north of 140000 gbp late last year at auction.

but my silver one sold for only 175GBP late last year in the UK and with all due respects to Dave I think it was a better restoration with correct sports seats and a manual

I have an opinion on the correct selling price but for a change I will keep it to myself

Yes this was my old targa. Was painted resale red in the early years and when I owned it then Classic Road and Track bought it and restored to what you see today.

It had factory sports seats in it when I owned it but interestingly had a black interior- PCA said it was delivered with a brown interior so it was all changed by Dave (including removing the original Recaros). Was a matching numbers factory Sporto, I believe it was the only 'Aus delivered longhood in Gulf Orange......

I sold it many moons ago when there was very little interest in Targas, even Aus delivered S targas!!

                            Cheers
