Hugh this car was owned by Ian Nott here in Auckland. It was auctioned by Webb's Auction House today and sold for NZ$172,500 including commission. I was there along with other Porsche Club members. There was strong bidding from at least three people including phone bidders. I don't know who has brought this car and I'm wondering if it is going back to Australia. This seems allot of money to us for an unrestored 911TE not in its original colour. And no it was not in exceptional condition being driven on a regular basis by Ian. It seems the RHD Australian new history has helped in our market.
A fellow club member here noted that a stunning completely restored 2.4TE engine and manual gearbox rebuild just sold for US$110K. Seems like the bubble hasn't burst!Last edited by Greg Gaylor; 12-07-20, 09:17 PM.1970 911E 'Grasshopper'
