So you can actually shine a t%$d.

And they can go like poo off a shovel too.

Peter, are you planning a respray or leaving as is ? Its just not that appealing in this colour, sorry. What was Porsche thinking ?

I guess there is Aubergine out there too and some unusually drab colours.

    Bring on Viper green !

you definitely can polish a tu$d.

Phil I will be respraying in the future but I like originality, so it will remain Sepia Brown.

          Original is best.

          And isn't Brown back, anyway?

            Sure is Marty.

Out of interest, how many Sepia Brown 911's are still in existence in Aus?

Saw a new 991 in this colour recently at the PC. Stunning!

Well if yours come up looking like the one you posted in the aircraft hanger, then that looks pretty good. I guess I had seen your car in person up at CTS a while back and the paint was looking very ordinary indeed. Dull and unappealling.

As you say, keeping it original is certainly high on everyones list these days given appreciating values for 'original' and unmolested cars.

Sorry if I went too far on the comments but I have always wondered how Porsche thought that Sepia Brown would be an attractive colour on these early 911's.

The yellow 72 targa I recently acquired is actually Aubergine underneath which is a far cry from its current Light Yellow (which isnt even correct Light yellow).

No offense taken Phil. If I can get it looking like the one in hanger I will be very happy as well. I was in two minds about the color before I purchased it, but it's grown on me.
I guess that's the beauty of our cars is the range of colors that they came in; what other car manufacturer offered a color range like Porsche? That's what makes the 901 unique.

Dave B. thought it was but Classic Porsche confirmed to me from its VIN that it was definitely aubergine originally.
