forthcoming sale of 73.5 CIS Targa

Having just negotiated the purchase of a factory 2.4 RHD coupe I will be listing for sale my rare 73.5 K Jetronic 2.4 T Targa. The vehicle will be listed on Carsales in the near future. It was originally ex the US and has been in Oz for 20 years and is converted to RHD. It is full matching numbers 5 speed with optioned S spoiler, Fuchs wheels. It is low miledge and fastidiously maintained in factory Bahia Red. It has factory carpet fitted and has never been the subject of a full respray. The period correct comfort seats are ex Harry's T and a new number plate panel and bumperettes have replaced the update back making this car extremely original with the exception of the dash, door cards and the S badge.

    Hi Neville

Have you had the car for long? Do you have some more photos?

    Thanks

Looks like a great car, unfortunately it has a later model dash and I suspect a cut through LHD front clip...
I don't think Targas with cut through LHD front clips converted to RHD are worth more than 45k in the current market....

How can you tell from the pictures Chris and what do you mean by cut through front clip?

Referring to when the original inner boot panel of a LHD car is cut open to accomodate moving the steering components to the right instead of replacing the panel with the RHD variant.
              just my opinion is all...

                Hi Chris
Thanks for your views however inspection of the vehicle will reveal that it is in fact correctly converted to RHD using a complete G series panel. The conversion has been assessed by a Porsche specialist. Regarding your attempt at valuing the car I am sure that other Typ 901 members with high quality Targas currenly for sale or being prepared for sale will disagree, however the market will determine the true value not an armchair expert.

                        Hi Phil
Had 3 enquiries to date, 2 from parties that missed it when it came up for sale last time. Hurry up and get yours ready for sale as I believe buyers would have a choice and be able to compare.
As you are probably aware the only reason it has been listed is that I was able to prize the Yellow UK delivered 72T coupe away from Clyde which is an exceptional car.

Yes that Yellow 72 coupe is an excellent car and has benefited immensely from living at Clydes car spa for the past few months.

I would not want to drive it in the rain for fear of getting the wheel arches dirty.

I was surprised to see another 72T Targa in Light yellow appear in CarSales as well and this vehicle has also been discussed on this board. I doubt it looks as good underneath as mine does though.

Lets see how the market reacts to all these early Targas up for sale.

Yes Phil There was that much bling that I forgot to look under the wheel arches' i got hooked on the radio although it is not even connected to a speaker or an aerial for that matter.
When will yours be completed and listed? I would like to be able to refer people to an aubergine or is it yellow competitor.
I reckon John might be right Targas may be the new Black and I may regret putting it on the market.
