I'm waiting for them to join up and start asking questions about what they need to get it back to original.

Then wait for the ad to re-appear on Gummy with a new seller.....

Yes good point on the digital readability. Almost $300,000 for a plate is up there - you could find good accommodation in LA for that price ...

No worries Merv, I jumped too quickly and thought you might have been having a go.

That WA number plate would not be considered legal despite what the seller says. They must be machine readable these days or they are non compliant. Thinks he's dreamin' about the price.

Sorry Phil my obviously very poor attempt at humour.

    Hi PHIL

I reckon this could be a bigger challenge ...

    1972 Porsche 911 Convertible

Fully restored (includes full engine, body, interior and soft-top).
    Wide-bodied Porsche 911 (Turbo-Bodied Porsche).
Upgraded 3.6Lt Porsche engine (an extremely fast sports car).
4 new tyres (extra-wide sports tyres).
    Porsches mag wheels.
Full leather interior in excellent condition.
    Power windows.
    Air conditioning.
    Alarm system.
Updated CD player and sound system.

This is a dream car and a regretful sale. Garaged and covered and rarely driven anymore. Very rare model 1972 Porsche 911 Convertible in immaculate condition. $59,500 (serious buyers only).

Vehicle located near Byron Bay (Northern NSW).

I've got enough stuff to actually come close to bringing that car back - but not at that price and not without the original drivetrain

Pretty sure its a LHD to RHD conversion as the location of the vent control knob still remains on the RHD underside of the instrument cluster. On my Aus delivered 68 this control is to the left of the steering wheel.

The pic shows the dash and you can see the vent control knob (which controls a cable as it rotates right to left) between the horn spokes of the wheel. Sorry I dont have a better pic on hand.

Pity there arent some better shots of the car. Lots of work to get it back to original 68 specs least of all finding an engine.

Anyone here willing to step up ?

American "fat" bumperettes... But you never know, maybe the body parts were just sourced from an ex USA car and it's an Aussie underneath? The accelerator pedal location also seems to be a little "off"...
