And the 997 Sportclassic no 198 has done the reverse from CTS down to Duttons; I've tracked that car since new and I reckon it's looking for it's 4th or 5th owner in 5 yrs.

I've a friend who bought one last year and its exquisite. He bought it for the right reasons - he loved it and intended to use it (which he's done) and keep it a good while.

However, the people buying these seem to be doing so with the view toward making a quick buck, and it would seem the market (up until recently) was saying the opposite.

They are special, undoubtedly, but one has to ask when "their time" will be?

I wonder if Dutton owner (George) now has equity in CTS too roumours about that recently.

The white Countach and the HRT427 have also recently had stints at Duttons, so the equity theory might have legs....

                  Barn Find?

And a 2.4S Targa (barn find?) has an asking price of $225K.

Is the targa the car subject to chatter on DDK? Probably won't last long in this country at that price if it all stacks up.

I am not so sure about that Jock.

                            1. Its a Targa, I like them, but most want a coupe

                            2. It doesn't run and has been sitting for a very long time so lots of systems need a full rebuild I suspect.

3 It does have some rust...and there will be more that can't be seen.

                            4. It will need a restoration.

I guess that it doesn't stack up in that case Clyde. You obviously know a lot about the car that does not seem to be publicly available or at least I was not aware of. There are different levels of knowledge and expertise in this game and I have a long way to climb.

Having said that I understand that a 2.4S coupe sold for just under 400k pounds at auction in the UK a week or so ago and this targa is only a bit over 25% of that.
