Chassis and engine stamping seem interesting.

Does not have its original spec engine, race car not something to drive at leisure, high price and 150K gives you a wide choice of options.

Apparently the whereabouts of the engine is known, and the value fully understood.

Yes I know this car as I helped them fit a set of Sports Seats to it (BF Torino repros). It is seriously fast and I am sure can be brought back to original specs but should be enjoyed as it is for a while.

                Hi Douglas,
does that mean the engine is for sale? Do you know what the owner wants for it?
                Ben.

                  Firstly its a race car.

If thats what you want its probably fantastic supposed to have a genuine RSR distributor and has 46IDA webers but not the italian ones.

                  Secondly its a race car......

                  Thirdly its a race car...

I am told its not much fun under 3000rpm.

I had a good look at it today and would be tempted if the original engine can be had for a reasonable price but apparently that's not the case.

It is in reasonable shape but I suspect a decent front RHS corner hit as guard is new drivers door fitment is very poor gap wise and a bit of buckle inside the front trunk on that side all pointing to it being a touch wonky on that side

Inside engine bay looks very original.

Lots of the car is quite original, the floor looked 0K surprisingly, except for the bolts now through it holding fire extinguishers, rolls cages etc.

                  Thats my 10c worth.

                    Ben.
Maybe but he is aware of what he has and wants a fortune apparently.

Great report Clyde! It seems relatively good value given its a genuine RHD - Have you got any thoughts what the engine is worth if located

Curiously I was thinking about it before and it a bit of the chicken and the egg

I rang Russell before but couldn't get onto him

I am reliably informed the engine will cost an absolute fortune making it a no go project

If you can't buy the engine its a no go as its currently a pure race car

If the engine is as expensive as I am told its still a no go as the restoration costs would be extreme!!!!

I'm with Chris. The characters in both stampings look odd to me too....anyone else?

                              Thanks Clyde.

What a shame - be great to see the car reunited with the engine. Maybe the owner of the engine has a plan ...
