In my experience if you look on the underside of those rust bubbles it might not be quite so rosy as where the Targa hoop bolts to the body is definately the #1 weak spot of a Targa as far as rust goes.

Was this car for sale earlier this year? Looks familiar.

I'm betting there's plenty of rust under that paint!!

Other than that critical area it seems reasonable car for someone. Certainly better than some.

Clyde, (or others who know) - is there a practical way to check that type of targa hoop weak spot ? Will an underside hoist inspection assist?

Just contemplating those issues on my kids taxi - converted green targa as I was contemplating a cheapy bare metal repaint if that exists.

The rear seat trim by the hoop looks to have seen some moisture....

Does anyone have any more info on this car?
A friend of mine is very interested.

I just pulled up the pics and the chassis number stamping doesn't look anything like correct to me, any opinions from '69 owners?

Any information at all would be appreciated.

Excellent, thanks to Jock and Julian.
FWIW based on this the chassis numbers look completely fine.

It looks the same as mine. I can shoot a photo also if needed??
