by all accounts you likely scored a decent car albeit needing some shakedown and other tidbits.

I hope the deal included the original motor?

Was a good price for what I consider is a much under valued model!
I looked at this car several years ago when was less complete but I ended up going in a different direction; it has extensive documentation of the restoration and was in great condition (though can't vouch for the car since then).

An old post on the 914 Register (in fact one of the only posts ); not sure if still the case but may be worth investigating and putting on the car trailer from Melb to Brisbane in the car if true?

i got lucky with the other two from down south.. i think the 3rd might be pushing my luck.
It's booked with Ceva...

I'm not sure how to get the original motor back to brisbane though... its currently disassembled in several large boxes...
