    FS: Porsche 914

    Hi All,

As per my post on the 912 rolling shell, I am selling both the 912 shell and my prized 914 to buy a currently road-going 4 seater P Car to enjoy with my family now.

The car is a 1973 RHD 914 and is probably the best in Australia; it won it's class at Victorian Day of the Volkswagen 2015 after just a bucket wash and vacuum! I chased after this car for 5 years before securing it....

$85k worth of receipts including rebuilt motor (increased to 1800cc) and gearbox. Has 4x 15x 6" anodised and detailed original Fuchs plus a 15x 5.5" heart shaped Fuch as a spare!

Last of the steel/chrome bumper model before they went to IB on this model as well. The solid targa roof set up on these is fantastic; they simply unclip and store in the rear boot whilst still allowing plenty of boot space (plus the front storage).
These are a fantastic mid-engined P car and had racing successes in the 6 cylinder guise at Le Mans and other races.

Many owners have actually transplanted a 6 cylinder P motor into the 4 cylinder variety; the power-to-weight ratio and being mid-engined would make one of these quite the car...

Would make a fine addition to a 911 in anyone's garage

    Listed on Carsales http://www.carsales.com.au/private/d...-4324444/?Cr=2

    Price $44,950

    Cheers

Beautiful car Craig, that will get snapped up,if I wasn't so committed to the targa resto I'd bail and buy it, good luck with the sale.

Lovely car. Would I be correct saying that is is the only VW powered factory Porsche model?

Looks great and I am sure it won't last long.

I think we all feel that way. Lovely car and worth well more than the asking price IMO.

Is this an ex LHD conversion, I didn't think they did RHD.

Yes Clyde, they never made factory RHD 914s.

Alan Hamilton brought 2x 914/6 into Australia and trialed RHD conversions back in the day but found they weren't viable.

Canford in the UK also started production of what they were trying to market as factory RHD for the UK; also found not to be viable.

The 914 is not dissimilar to 356 markets whereby RHD conversions are not frowned upon as per the 911 fraternity and are actually preferred.

                        Cheers
