RHD T project for sale in Melbourne

Must be worth saving... have asked the vendor for a few more details, check out the massive holes in the inner front fenders... in Balwyn, Vic, maybe our southern brothers can take a look and post some more info.

First registered in 1968 and its a 1972 model. Hmmmmm........

Its a time machine 911 (the TM model).

Might be worth having a look at. Not sure about that large hole in the fender though??

the front slam panel appears to be modified and there is a large pipe passing through the hole in the lh front fender and poking out into the lh engine bay. wonder if the car had something other than an air cooled flat six fitted at some stage?

not for the feint of heart....

          Craig,

I have emailed back and forth with this guy. Seems he has plenty of interest (so he says) and he's waiting to see what the auction brings,

          Good luck to him.

He claims its a 70 T VIN: 911-1100523 (think the dash should be a 0).

The car is in Drouin (Gippsland) - an excuse for anothr run down that way ??

I too wondered about those large holes in each fron fender and I worry its had a V8 or other water cooled engine in it hence the mods to teh front pannel (where the radiator was). or its had a large oil cooler in it.

Wheels are gas burners and supposedly its got all the other bits (yeah right).

Some ebay bunny might be in for a big surprise unless they drive down and take a long hard look at it before bidding.

          My $0.02 worth anyway.

Pretty sure I had a look at this car back in 1993 when I was a copper in Traralgon! But it had an engine then

From memory it had Mahle 'gas-burners'...

unfortunately for me it is exactly what i'm looking for project wise but distance and work commitments mean no ppi. sure i purchased my e sight unseen but it was a very different kettle of fish.

because at the end of the day you could easily end up with this...

Jason Caroll checked out the ebay car today in person and said there were more bits missing than were there. Despite the seller saying it had all the guards, doors etc, it only has one front guard, no doors or windows, no hood, no engine lid, no lights, no seats, etc. The Ebay sales description is extremely misleading. Car is far from being "complete".

Also looks like it has has a radiator installed in the front hence the large holes cut into each inner front fender to let air out.

This is definitely one to pass on. Certainly not worth the Buy it now price of $15K.

I have emailed eBay about the misleading description of this car. people are still bidding it up and I am sure few of them know it is very incomplete. Poor sellers like this give ebay a bad name.

Hopefully none of our memebrs are bidding on it. Seems the seller is adamant he will get his $15K for the car.

The buyer may well be deep in his own ebay identity by now. I sent him a PM via ebay and advised about teh car beng incomplete. i doubt he knew this when using B.I.N. The seller doesnt seem to care at all about the way he described the car.

Dont worry Craig, if we come across something worthwhile for yr project, we'll let you know.

What about a 74 or 75 model ? Underneath they are almost identical to a 73 chassis and if you want to race of make a project car, you can use fibreglass bits which are easily obtained.

As these are galvanised, they are often a far better alternative as a base car to start from.
